In December 2014, the <a href="/wiki/United_States_Copyright_Office" title="United States Copyright Office">United States Copyright Office</a> stated that works by a non-human are not subject to US copyright, a view reaffirmed by a <a href="/wiki/United_States_federal_judge" title="United States federal judge">US federal judge</a> in 2016. </p> <p><small>Photograph: Depicted <a href="/wiki/Celebes_crested_macaque" title="Celebes crested macaque">Celebes crested macaque</a></small></p> <div class="potd-recent" style="text-align:right;"> Recently featured: <div class="hlist inline"> <ul><li><a href="/wiki/Template:POTD/2017-05-31" title="Template:POTD/2017-05-31"><i>Carnation, Lily, Lily, Rose</i></a></li> <li><a href="/wiki/Template:POTD/2017-05-30" title="Template:POTD/2017-05-30">Black-sided hawkfish</a></li> <li><a href="/wiki/Template:POTD/2017-05-29" title="Template:POTD/2017-05-29">Charles II of England</a></li></ul> </div></div> <div class="potd-footer hlist noprint" style="text-align:right;"> <ul><li><b><a href="/wiki/Wikipedia:Picture_of_the_day/June_2017" title="Wikipedia:Picture of the day/June 2017">Archive</a></b></li> <li><b><a href="/wiki/Wikipedia:Featured_pictures" title="Wikipedia:Featured pictures">More featured pictures...</a></b></li></ul> </div> </td></tr></table> </div> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:FeedItem/potd/20170602000000/en Wikipedia picture of the day for June 2 2017-06-02T00:00:00Z <div class="mw-parser-output"><table style="margin:0 3px 3px; width:100%; text-align:left; background-color:transparent; border-collapse: collapse;"> <tr> <td style="padding:0 0.9em 0 0;"> <a href="/wiki/File:BOH%26MOR-1-Protectorate_of_Bohemia_and_Moravia-1_Koruna-(1939)ND.jpg" class="image" title="Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia banknote"><img alt="Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia banknote" src="//upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/3/34/BOH%26MOR-1-Protectorate_of_Bohemia_and_Moravia-1_Koruna-%281939%29ND.jpg/320px-BOH%26MOR-1-Protectorate_of_Bohemia_and_Moravia-1_Koruna-%281939%29ND.jpg" width="320" height="368" srcset="//upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/3/34/BOH%26MOR-1-Protectorate_of_Bohemia_and_Moravia-1_Koruna-%281939%29ND.jpg/480px-BOH%26MOR-1-Protectorate_of_Bohemia_and_Moravia-1_Koruna-%281939%29ND.jpg 1.5x, //upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/3/34/BOH%26MOR-1-Protectorate_of_Bohemia_and_Moravia-1_Koruna-%281939%29ND.jpg/640px-BOH%26MOR-1-Protectorate_of_Bohemia_and_Moravia-1_Koruna-%281939%29ND.jpg 2x" data-file-width="3556" data-file-height="4084" /></a> </td> <td style="padding:0 6px 0 0"> <p>The first issue (March 1939) of paper currency in the <b><a href="/wiki/Protectorate_of_Bohemia_and_Moravia" title="Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia">Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia</a></b>, an unissued 1938 Republic of Czechoslovakia one koruna note originally intended for the Czech army.
